World Finance Award for Mediolanum Asset Management

Mediolanum Asset Management Limited, manager of the GAMAX Funds Maxi-Bond, has been awarded the title of best Investment Management Company in Ireland in the World Finance Awards 2014.

Last Monday, the financial magazine World Finance announced the investment management awards. The award for Ireland’s best investment management company was won by Mediolanum Asset Management (MAML).

The British financial magazine World Finance has been awarding the World Finance Awards in its current 14 categories and for 74 countries since 2007. Exceptional fund management companies and financial services providers are judged by the readers of the magazine and a panel of experts. The investment strategy, performance standards, benchmarking and returns generated by the investment strategies offered by the investment firms are all analysed and evaluated.

“A large number of first-class fund managers are based in Ireland. Being number one in this environment is more than just an incredible achievement for our entire team: it is also the result of numerous strategic processes that we have put in place over recent years in order to stay far ahead in product innovation, process improvement, and the successful development of management skills,” says Furio Pietribiasi, chief executive of Mediolanum Asset Management.

In Germany, Mediolanum manages the GAMAX Funds Maxi-Bond (ISIN LU0051667300), which primarily invests in fixed and floating rate Italian government bonds. The fund has delivered a return of 135% since its launch in 1994. The performance over the last twelve months currently stands at 5.6 per cent (as of 30 June 2014).Mediolanum Asset Management is the investment arm of the Italian Mediolanum Banking Group and was founded in 1998 in Dublin. The fund management company currently manages 60 funds – 45 of which are listed in Germany – and overall assets amounting to 28.7 billion Euro (as of the end of 2013).
