Speaker Bio's

Furio Pietribiasi is responsible for Mediolanum business operations in Ireland. He is CEO of Mediolanum International Funds, which is the European Asset Management platform of the Banca Mediolanum Group and a member of the Board of Mediolanum International Life.

He has been active in the Irish financial services industry for over 25 years, serving as a member of numerous government sponsored advisory groups for asset management and funds. Furio is an active board member of the Irish Association of Investment Managers and the Financal Services Ireland (part of Ibec, Ireland’s largest business organisation) and has served as the Chairperson of both boards.

As part of the fund management industry’s international engagement, Furio co-chaired the Brexit Stream of the Anglo-Irish Dialogue between City of London and Financial Services Ireland and continues to be an active member and contributor to the ongoing dialogue.

Furio is a key advocate of Ireland's unique financial services innovation ecosystem. He has contributed to Ireland's fintech strategy and has advised and served on the board of many fast-growing companies in the sector in Ireland, the UK and Italy, including Scalapay, Soldo Financial Services and formerly at Prima Assicurazioni. Furio has also invested in several fintech start-ups.

He founded and has been chairperson of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Ireland. part of Assocamere Estero, which fosters, safeguards and develops commercial, industrial and financial relations between the two countries.

Michael D’Arcy was appointed CEO of the Irish AIM in October 2020.  He had previously been a member of the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) from 2007. He served on a number of committees including Finance and Public Accounts and was appointed to the statutory Banking Inquiry which investigated the collapse of the Irish banking sector prior to 2008.

In 2017, Michael was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Finance with responsibility for Financial Services and Insurance.  During his term in office, he led the Irish government’s campaign to relocate the European Banking Authority from London to Dublin.  He launched a new 5-year strategy for the IFS sector (Ireland for Finance, April 2019).  He chaired both the Government’s Industry Advisory Committee and High Level Implementation Committee.  Michael attended Eurogroup and Ecofin meetings on behalf of the Government of Ireland. 

Andreas Pfunder is the managing Director at Allfunds Data Analytics where he founded instiHub to pursue a mission with his full passion. The mission is to serve the institutional asset management community with actionable market and business intelligence that betters the commercial and investment outcome for all stakeholders.

Andreas Pfuner holds an excellent track record in building effective, commercially focused teams in an internationally diverse setting. He also has an extensive experience in sales, strategy, product, marketing, operations and P&L management, along being an accomplished public speaker and consultant to a vast network of senior investment industry executives and analysts. Finally, in his work, he successfully created the dominant institutional and sub-advisory intelligence firm in Europe and Asia. 

Jennifer Carroll MacNeill is Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance. She was appointed to this role in December 2022.

She is a TD for the Dún Laoghaire Constituency, elected in February 2020. She is Vice Chair of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party and Spokesperson for Equality. She is also Vice Chair of the Justice Committee as well as being a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement Committee. She was also a member of the Special Dáil Committee on Covid prior to its disbandment into sectoral Committees. Previously she was a Councillor for the Killiney-Shankill ward. Since first being elected as a public representative, she has prioritised families experiencing homelessness and domestic abuse awareness. She has supported, and personally assisted a number of homeless women with small children to find appropriate accommodation. She has also worked closely with Coercive Control Ireland to raise awareness of this issue.  

Giorgio Carlino has been the Head of Multi-Management at Mediolanum International Funds since August 2022. He is responsible for Mediolanum’s Manager Selection team as well as the multi-manager portfolio management unit.

Based in Dublin, Giorgio reports to the firm’s Chief Investment Officer, Christophe Jaubert, and is part of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Carlino started his career in Italy selecting active funds for high-net-worth clients. He then moved to Frankfurt, and subsequently New York City in 2013, where Giorgio lead a Multi-Asset division of Allianz Global Investors.

Eoin Lane is the Global Head of Ai at BNYMellon. He has been appointed at this role since 2020. 
 
A big data AI executive with a track record of delivering transformative enterprise class AI solutions. At BNY Mellon Eoin leads a global team of data scientists and engineers, leveraging state-of-the-art AI, design thinking, and engineering best practices to deliver scalable AI applications for our clients and the bank. Ten years' experience in the financial and utilities industry and recipient of multiple IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement awards. Previously Eoin was a chief architect for IBM's Intelligent Energy and Water platforms, responsible for innovation, architecture, and design. Expert at incubating disruptive technology, recruiting top talent, growing and leading AI and engineering teams. An IBM Master Inventor with over 70 patents and patents pending and several dozen publications.

Karoline Keane is Head of Product Development and Management for Mediolanum International Funds covering both funds and insurance. Karoline has extensive background in developing products and bespoke solutions across all asset classes and for retail and institutional clients.

Prior to Mediolanum, Karoline worked at Man Group plc, Citibank Europe plc and The Children’s Investment Fund. Karoline was also a Lecturer for the Institute of Bankers for Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Applied Alternative Investments. She is an active member of various industry groups and was former Chair of the AIMA Ireland Steering Group. Karoline is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Dublin Chapter of 100 Women in Finance.

One-to-One Bio's

Christophe Jaubert is the Chief Investment Officer of Mediolanum International Funds. Christophe is in charge of Mediolanum International Fund’s investment team, where he is responsible for the firm’s overall investment performance. Christophe contributes to the evolution of the firm’s investment process, using both fundamental and technical analysis to identify investment opportunities.

Christophe has more than 29 years of experience in investment management. He previously worked at Rothschild & Co in Paris, where he served as the Managing Director & CIO. Prior to that, Jaubert worked as Managing Director and CIO for HDF Finance, with responsibility across Paris, New York, Singapore, and Geneva

Jon Bathgate is an Investor at NZS Capital, LLC since 2020.

Before joining NZS Capital, Jon worked at Janus Henderson Investors in Denver as a research analyst and co-head of the technology sector team. He began his investment career in 2008. 

Jon has a BA in Mathematics. He is a CFA® charterholder.

Steven Luk embarked on his investment management journey on the cusp of the Global Financial Crisis and has since amassed more than 15 years of experience in the world’s top two largest economies. He joined FountainCap in early 2018 and has been instrumental in transforming the company into an award-winning, China-centric asset management firm, stewarding multi-billion dollars for global institutions. Despite the numerous challenges in the China asset management industry, his commitment to shaping FountainCap into a trusted, on-the-ground China specialist and his relentless pursuit of delivering excellence to clients have led to an almost three-fold increase in the company's assets under management during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to his tenure at FountainCap, Steven was with Goldman Sachs for a decade, working in its Investment Management Division (IMD) in both New York and Shanghai. As an IMD Corporate Controller between 2007 and 2011, he oversaw divisional business planning, product structuring, management reporting, and internal project management. Between 2013 and 2018, he served as an Investment Professional / Private Wealth Advisor, catering to Goldman's ultra-high-net-worth clients and private businesses by offering multi-asset portfolio management, investment analysis, estate planning, and general business consultation. Steven also held the position of President of the Shanghai Oxford and Cambridge Alumni Society from 2014 to 2018 and was a runner-up in the inaugural British Council UK Alumni Award in Social Impact in Shanghai.

Steven received a BSc degree (cum laude) with dual concentrations in Finance and Management Information System from SUNY Binghamton University in 2007 and an MBA from the University of Oxford in 2012

Andrew Jacobson founded Axiom in 1998 and serves as CEO and Chief Investment Officer providing overall strategic and operational direction for the firm. In addition, as a Portfolio Manager, Andrew leads Axiom’s International and International Opportunity Equity Strategies, Emerging Markets and Emerging Market World Equity Strategies, and the Concentrated Global Growth Equity Strategy. Prior to founding Axiom, Andrew was Executive Vice President of Columbus Circle Investors, a unit of PIMCO Advisors LP, where he developed and managed Columbus Circle’s International Growth Equity Strategy.

Andrew also worked as an analyst for Booz Allen & Hamilton’s international investment advisory group in New York as well as for the venture capital firm Apax Associates in Paris. Andrew graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. cum laude in Molecular Biology and earned an M.B.A. in Finance with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Andrew serves on the Penn Venture Lab Advisory Board and the Penn Graduate School of Education Advisory Board and, previously, was a Trustee on the Board of the Brunswick School where he was a member of the investment committee. 

Brian O’Reilly is the Head of Market Strategy at Mediolanum International Funds. Brian has 25 years of experience in investment management and is responsible for contributing to the development of Mediolanum International Funds’ investment House View, as well as sitting on its Investment Committee.

Brian began his career at Goldman Sachs, before spending 12 years at UBS, where he served as the Chief Investment  Officer for UBS Wealth Management in both London and New York. Additionally, he held the role of CIO at Davy, Ireland's largest wealth management firm, before joining Mediolanum in 2018.

Inma Conde joined Mediolanum in 2018 as Head of Manager Research, and was promoted to Head of ESG in January 2023.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Inma joined Mediolanum International Funds from Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, one of the largest community foundations in the US, where she held the position of Director of Investments.

Conde is a CFA Charterholder, and has strong experience working with top tier asset managers, specialising in quantitative and sustainable investing.

Shashwat Verma re-joined Lansdowne Partners in September 2016 as an analyst, after having initially worked at the Firm from 2011-2014, and became Deputy Portfolio Manager in January 2021. From 2014-16, Shashwat worked at Davidson Kempner European Partners LLP as an Analyst within the European Long / Short Equities team. Prior to 2011, Shashwat worked at Oliver Wyman, where he was a Manager in the Financial Services Practice. Shashwat is an Indian national and holds a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. In his free time, he enjoys running, swimming and politics.
