Services im Überblick

Investing well is not only a question of what you invest in. It is also a question of how, and when, money reaches the market. Our services provide the method.

Product answers what. Service answers how.

Mediolanum International Funds designs and manages a range of investment services that sit alongside our funds. They exist to solve a problem that product alone cannot solve: even a well-chosen strategy can disappoint if money enters the market at the wrong moment, or if the investor abandons it during a period of volatility.

Each service is rule-based and automatic. The rules are agreed at the outset and the mechanism then runs without requiring a decision month by month. That is what makes these services valuable to advisers managing a large client base, as well as to the clients themselves.

“The objective is not to maximise return. It is to maximise the probability of making money.”

— Furio Pietribiasi, Chief Executive Officer von Mediolanum International Funds.

Disclaimer: An investment in a fund can go down as well as up and that the return upon the investment will therefore necessarily be variable.

Three ways in, one method

Each service is built around a specific client situation. The principles behind them — cost averaging, compounding and multi-manager diversification — are the same.

  • PAC — Capital Accumulation Plan

    For regular savers

For clients who can save small amounts regularly to build wealth within a defined time frame. Plan over ten, fifteen, twenty or forty years towards a goal — a holiday home, a child's education, retirement.

  • Big Chance

    For a smaller lump sum

For clients who have already saved or inherited money and want not only to preserve its purchasing power but to grow it. Phased into equities over three, six, nine, twelve or twenty-four months.

  • Intelligent Investment Strategy

    For accumulated savings

For clients who have accumulated savings over years and want their capital to finally work harder. A longer journey of three, four or five years, which responds to markets as they move.

The method behind all three

For over forty years Mediolanum has delivered a method based on compounding, the cost averaging method, and multi-manager investment funds.

Cost averaging

Investing the same amount at regular intervals means you naturally buy more units when prices are lower and fewer when prices are higher. Over time this smooths out the risk of buying expensively at the peak of the market, and the risk of missing opportunities when the market is falling.

Compounding

Over a longer investment horizon, returns have more time to generate further returns through compounding. Regular, rule-based investing can also help an investor stay committed through market ups and downs, rather than making decisions based on short-term emotions. Starting earlier gives growth more time to build and may mean smaller regular contributions are needed to work towards the same goal. The plan’s duration and contribution amount both matter; outcomes are not guaranteed.

Multi-manager
diversification

Multi-manager funds pool investments across asset classes, regions and sectors, with specialist managers selected for their expertise and approach. Unlike holding a small number of stocks or bonds directly, a multi-manager fund spreads exposure across a broader range of investments and investment decisions. No manager leads in every environment, so combining specialists may help diversify risk; it does not remove the risk of loss or guarantee returns.

Why theory alone is not enough

Behaviour ultimately drives outcomes. That is why we turn these principles into practical, automated solutions rather than leaving them as advice — the mechanism removes the decision from the moment when emotion is strongest.

What it gives an adviser

Rule-based automation handles the agreed investment process in the background, freeing advisers this approach combines consistent execution with more time to build relationships, support existing clients and grow the business.

Other services

For over forty years Mediolanum has delivered a method based on compounding, the cost averaging method, and multi-manager investment funds.

Double Chance

A pre-planned subscription into chosen funds over a set period. The lump sum is held in a dedicated account and equal amounts are transferred into the chosen funds on a fixed schedule until the deposit is used, so the client enters the market gradually rather than on a single day.

PAF — Family Accumulation Plan

A savings plan designed to remove the barriers that stop younger investors starting: smaller amounts, more flexible conditions, and the ability for family members to contribute to the same plan.
