What is MIA?

MIA is the Mediolanum Investment Academy which is a 24-month long paid programme built for those who are interested in a career in asset management. As part of the programme you will have the opportunity to develop your skills by working alongside experienced investment professionals in an organisation where more than €59 billion is actively managed.

The programme was successfully launched in 2022 and we are now launching the third edition in 2024.

Over the course of 24 months you will get the opportunity to gain broad experience in asset management across different asset classes. You will work across different areas of investments during the programme and be involved in very interesting projects and side by side with the most experienced investment professionals in the organisation.

The role of an MIA participant has been developed as a front office role to allow for successful candidates to gain valuable insight into a global asset management organisation. As part of the programme's structure, you will be encouraged to learn and acquire both hard and soft skills fundamental for your success in the investment industry.

In the first 2 years, successful candidates will work as Investment Associate Analysts.

Every participant will have a “mentor” who will act as a point of reference and coach for the entire programme. You will also get the chance to prove yourself as a valuable member of the team while working on assignments, research reports and other projects.

  • After this conversation, if both you and HR want to proceed with your application you will agree on an interview date with a member of the investment team.
  • An online interview will then take place giving you a chance to showcase your knowledge and skills.
  • If successful after the first-round interview, you will complete a  psychometric assessment to evaluate your strengths and suitability for the investment academy. 
  • An on-site interview will be the next step which will include a case study that you will present to members of the investment team.
  • At the end of this comprehensive recruitment process, we will contact you with any feedback and potentially an offer!

We’re looking for 5 outstanding candidates.

  • You have a strong interest in investment markets.
  • You work well as part of a team.
  • You are a great communicator with an analytical mindset.
  • You’re comfortable presenting your ideas, expressing your opinions, and talking to senior management and clients.
  • You have great attention to detail as well as strong research and numerical reasoning skills.

  • You love solving complex problems.
  • You want to make a difference in the world through a career in asset management.

Ideally, you have one or more of the following:

  • A Bachelor (Hons) degree in (but not limited to) Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering or Applied Mathematics. Other degrees will be considered.
  • CFA Qualified or in the process of obtaining CFA is highly advantageous.
  • Masters/ PHD qualifications are a distinct advantage.

At the end of the programme, the successful candidates will become permanent members of the investment team within a front office position.

MIFL Established in Dublin since 1997, Mediolanum has a Fund Management Company and a Life Insurance Company with each focused on the research, development, and discovery of innovative investment products and services.
