May proved to be another busy month for media engagement at Mediolanum, with a major European profile of our CEO and a particularly strong run of coverage in the German market. Here are some of the key stories we featured in.
Europe-wide
Funds Europe published an extensive with our CEO, Furio Pietribiasi, entitled The quiet contrarian of European retail asset management. Over an hour of conversation with Mark Latham, Furio set out his thinking on living with volatility, why retail investors need discipline rather than excitement, Mediolanum's multi-manager architecture, the active versus passive debate, AI's role in the industry, and the evolution of Ireland as a home for international funds.
Germany
It was a particularly strong month for German coverage across several of our spokespeople.
Our Head of Fixed Income, Daniel Loughney, gave a wide-ranging bond markets interview to Fundview, cautioning that markets are pricing in too little risk: Mediolanum-Leiter warnt vor struktureller Gefahr: „Die Märkte sind zu entspannt”.
Furio was also the focus of an in-depth interview with Cash., covering market volatility as an opportunity, Mediolanum's systematic approach, and the shift from a product-led to a strategy-led model: „Wir nutzen Marktvolatilität als Chance für unsere Kunden, Mehr System, weniger Emotion”.
Cor Dücker, our head of business development in Germany, featured prominently on the German retirement debate, with a Cash. interview making the case for a higher equity allocation in private pension provision — "Altersvorsorge braucht einfach eine höhere Aktienquote” — and contributing to e-fundresearch's industry survey on Germany's proposed Altersvorsorgedepot reforms: Umfrage zum Altersvorsorgedepot: Neustart für die private Vorsorge in Deutschland?. Mediolanum was also named among the leading providers in the German multi-manager market following the publication of the 2026 Dachfonds Studie, with mentions in Das Investment, Fonds Professionell, Citywire (paywall) and e-fundresearch. (Paywall)
