At our third annual Philanthropic Collective event in Dublin, we proudly announced that we have reached our €1 million fundraising target for partnerships with Sporting Liberties, The Liberties Community Project, Coolmine Therapeutic Community, and Belvedere Youth Club.
This milestone will fund a new multi-purpose sports facility at St James’s Primary School—the first public green space for organised sport in the area. The project aims to provide young people with safe, inclusive access to sport, mentoring, and education, helping to reduce risks linked to social exclusion.
The Collective, supported by Fondazione Mediolanum and generous business partners, has now raised €2 million in total. These funds also strengthen initiatives with Coolmine and Belvedere Youth Club, supporting vulnerable mothers and children and expanding youth programmes across Dublin’s Inner City.
Our charitable partners praised the impact of the Collective. ““The new facility will make a real difference for children and teenagers in the Liberties. For too long, the lack of space has limited what local clubs and schools can offer,” said Tom Magee of Sporting Liberties.
Pauline McKeown of CEO of Coolmine added: “We’ve seen the difference that early and consistent support can make for women and children rebuilding their lives. In an area facing high female suicide rates, prevention is crucial.”
While Jenny Courtney, CEO of Belvedere Youth Club, explained, “With Mediolanum’s support, we’ve expanded youth and family initiatives across Dublin’s Inner City, creating more opportunities for young people to thrive.”
Our CEO, Furio Pietribiasi, summed it up: “For over 27 years, Ireland has been our home, and we are deeply committed to giving back to the communities that have supported our growth. This new initiative goes far beyond fundraising or sport. It represents a holistic, partnership-driven model of community development, one that brings together local leadership and business engagement to create real opportunities for young people. We are especially grateful to all our business partners, not only for their generous contributions, but for their unwavering commitment.”
While long-time supporter, Jack Chambers, Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation said, “Our country faces complex challenges but is home to remarkable people and remarkable organisations fuelled by care and compassion who are driving real change. The Mediolanum Philanthropic Collective shows what can be achieved when communities, charities and businesses come together with a shared purpose, creating inclusive spaces and opportunities that strengthen communities through sport, education and local leadership.”
We thank all partners and charities for their dedication and look forward to continuing this journey of positive change.
